My golf game is all over the place these days, eluding me every time I think I’ve got something resembling a groove on. Fortunately, I tend to be a lot more accurate when I write about golf and wine, and occasionally this results in the journalistic equivalent of a good round. Such was the case when I was asked by The Met Golfer to write a story on how golf clubs in the Tri-State area educate their members about wine. What’s the secret to success when it’s done right? It takes just two ingredients: a membership with a commitment to enjoying good wine and the presence of a “club wine pro,” someone on staff with the training and passion to make the wine program special.
